The magical scene where the musical will pass "Love Never Dies" then Phantom of the Opera is the Coney Island 1906, ten years after the fire of the Paris Opera with musical ending. This was announced Oct. 8 its author Andrew Lloyd Webber at a packed press conference in London.

Coney Island, the former island to the south of Brooklyn, was a major tourist attraction area that flourished in early twentieth century with the construction of the first theme parks in the world, becoming the area Fun United States' largest and favorite training ground for many New Yorkers.

In the 1860's with the advent of railways and steamships, Coney Island became a much more accessible to their hotels, brothels, racetracks and casinos. A Charles ID Looff Danish carpenter, built the first carousel in 1876, the rate was 5 cents. In 1897 Poul CAIT Boyton was the first attractions to open a so-called "Sea Lion Park" and in 1901 opened Gerge C. Tilyou "Steeplechase Park" whose main attraction was a horse race on an undulating track.

In 1901 Thompson and Elmer Dundy Frederik joined forces to buy "Sea Lion Park and open land in the" Luna Park "on May 16, 1903. In this spectacular park visitors were transported to an imaginary journey to the moon, through its various attractions all lit by 250,000 light bulbs. It was probably the most popular park in Coney Island and the first theme park in the world. Because of its success soon other Luna Park built in major cities in the U.S. east coast, Charleston, Detroit, Pigsburg, etc., But the most missed was to Coney Island. On August 12, 1944 a fire destroyed a dozen attractions among them the famous encentraba tower 122 feet high, the flagship park closed its doors.






In 1904 the entrepreneur "William H. Reynolds will open the third largest park in Coney Island" Dreamland "with elegant architecture, educational exhibits and the latest developments concerning leisure time.

This mixture of amusement parks, roller coasters spectacular, fairs, racetracks, casinos, fast food restaurants and beaches, where several million people came each year in search of fun and entertainment, made up Coney Island, 1906 to which we will transport the new musical. Some believed at the time that it was the eighth wonder of the world for its spectacular buildings, but over the years, began to decline, and most parks are closed, now almost a forgotten area for everyone.
